On the other side of a sand dune is inspired by memories of old Icelandic women who have lived through the incredible evolution of humanity in the past century. After interviewing these women at the beginning of her research, Bára creates a fantasy for the stage, based on their stories about events that took place over the last seventy years.

If one digs back in time only a hundred years or even less, it is astonishing to see the living conditions and way of thinking which characterised our past. Experiencing the evolution from earlier times until today, where in contrast with the past the amount of choices seems overwhelming, is an interesting journey. The memory of this transition is still alive within the people who experienced it. Based on the recollections of the Icelandic women she interviewed, Bára brings a timeless character to the stage. In a theatrical solo performance where dance, voice and lights intertwine, the audience enters the inner world of a girl / woman. In this world desires, ideas and feelings of lost times shimmer through, reflecting upon our present lives.
